WINSETT

Helen, age 78, life long resident of Miamisburg, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012. Helen was born December 13, 1933 in Lee County, VA.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Esther (Smith) Bledsoe Sr. and by her five brothers: Charles Bledsoe Jr., Dillas Bledsoe, James "Woody" Bledsoe, Grover "Bob" Bledsoe and Billy Bledsoe.  She is survived by 2 daughters, Frances Winsett and Sandy Winsett, 2 grandchildren, Brian David and Dawn Marie Winsett, several great grandchildren, 1 sister, Virginia Cagg of Indianapolis, IN., 4 sisters-in-law, Ruby Bledsoe of Miamisburg, Alma Bledsoe and Juanita Bledsoe, both of Pennington Gap, VA and Mazie Winsett of Haartselle, AL., and several special nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be Wednesday 10 am to 11 am at Brough Getts Funeral Home, 102 S. Second Street, Miamisburg, with services to follow at 11 am with Pastor Steve Spurgin of First Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, family wishes donation to Wounded Vets and March of Dimes.  Brough Getts Funeral Home, 937-866-1001, Sean Gillen, Funeral Director, entrusted with arrangements. 
 
 
DEAN

Betty Jane (Curl) age 85, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 in the loving arms of her daughter, Judy and son-in-law, Mike at their home in Miamisburg, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin W. Dean. Betty is survived by her children: Judith (Mike) Riley of Miamisburg, Ohio; Sheila (David) Ference of Morrow, Ohio; Chris (Warren) Kauber from North Carolina; five grandchildren: Michael (Elizabeth) Riley, Brittany & Justin Ference, Michele Gates, Saundra Koesters; three great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Vaughan, sister-in-law, Doris Woods; extended family and friends. Betty was an early childhood educator and ran her own pre-school from her home before retiring with her husband to their home on the Ohio River. She later moved to Miamisburg to live with her daughter, Judy, after the death of her husband. She loved being outdoors, mowing, sitting on the sun porch and watching the birds while enjoying her coffee. She loved flowers and her favorites were yellow roses, violets and lily-of-the valley. Her greatest love and enjoyment in life was her family and spending time with them. A private family graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery, New Holland, Ohio. Because of her love for all children, memorial contributions in Betty’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org or to Vitas Hospice at vitas.com. The family would like to thank Dr. Carolyn Bailey, Bernice Powell,CMA, Heather Hensley,SLP and the Vitas Hospice team for the support and loving care they provided. CAVINESS

Caviness Goldie M. (nee Raley)  - was born May 10, 1916 in College Place, WA. She attended Pacific Union College where she met George L. Caviness. They married in 1939 in southern CA. Son Malcolm was born at Atlantic Union College. Son Arthur was born in Columbus, OH. Daughter Dorothy was born at Pacific Union College.

Goldie and George later lived at Australasian Missionary College, Union College, Newbold College and Walla Walla College. George died in 2003 and Goldie died Dec. 18, 2011 at Centerville, OH. Goldie leaves Malcolm and Sherril Caviness and Arthur and Karen Caviness all of Centerville, OH; and Dorothy and Dave Buckman of Hendersonville, TN. Grandchildren include Scot, Darin, Curtis, Barry, Brian and Philip Caviness and Jeanne Marie and Ladele Buckman. A celebration of life service will be held January 21, 2012 at Centerville SDA Church (456 West Spring Valley Pike in Centerville, OH 45458) 4:00 pm. Brough - Getts Serving the family.

 

PATRICK
Martha J.
- age 88 of Miamisburg passed Saturday evening November 19, 2011 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by husband Dick of 65 years. Martha is survived by daughter Pam and husband John Mott, and son Mike and wife Deb Patrick, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 10:30am Wednesday November 22, 2011 at Brough-Getts Funeral Home in Miamisburg where friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Burial will take place at Hill Grove Cemetery in Miamisburg. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Dayton.

 

VITEK JR.
Martin G. “Marty”
- Age 87 of Centerville passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011. Marty was a Mason member. He was a Veteran of WWII proudly serving in the U.S Navy. Marty was a talented artists and an excellent cook. Marty was preceded in death by his wife Emma P. Vitek and his daughter Vicki Reynolds. Marty was survived by his son-in law Rick Reynolds of Miamisburg, granddaughters Heather (John) Reynolds, Emily Reynolds of Miamisburg , Grandson Martin (Lara) Reynolds of West Carrollton, Great granddaughter Araya Rodehaver of Miamisburg, brother Jerry (Joan) Vitek and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will held from 11:00am- 12:00pm Thursday July 21, 2011 at Brough-Getts Funeral Home in Miamisburg. Burial will follow services at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens. The family is asking instead of donating flowers that donations be made at any Wright-Patt Credit Union in the name of Martin Vitek Memorial Fund.

 

TUTTLE
 John M. - December 8, 1956 - April 27, 2011. He was preceded in death by: father Alfred A. Tuttle, step-father Buford T. Seabolt, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and a cousin. John is survived by his mother Marjorie T. Seabolt, brother James D. Tuttle, Daughter Brandie L. Tuttle, son-in-Law Gary “Shorty” Clifford, son John M. Tuttle Jr. and four grandsons Nathan, Kyler, Dylan and James. Plus a uncle and two aunts, William and Elizabeth Witt and Bessie Bair and other beloved cousins and friends. STANKO
Mildred Ruth - 90, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on April 26, 2011. She was born June 23, 1920 in Ingram, Pennsylvania. She married Paul W. Stanko on August 30, 1953 and was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Paul. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Duke Johnson of Westerville, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Sibyl and Steve Hatton of Kettering, OH; and grandchildren, Kyle, Karissa, and Olivia of Kettering, OH. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Concordia Lutheran Church, 250 Peach Orchard Ave, Oakwood, OH, Saturday April 30, 2011 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Funeral service will begin at 11:00am. A Christian burial will immediately follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, OH. RILEY
Grover Thomas
age 91, of Miamisburg passed away peacefully at his home on April 25, 2011 surrounded by his loving family, who cared for him during his final days. He was born April 24, 1920 in Dayton Ohio to the late Clara and Grover Riley. Grover is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn M. (Ennis) Riley; son Michael G. Riley (Judy); daughter Tammy S. McNeil (Dennis); grandchildren Heather N. Couts (Joshua), Lucas C. McNeil (Jenni Goetz), Michael J. Riley (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren; Haidyn, Jackson and Larkin; brother Robert Riley; extended family and friends.

A retiree of General Motors, Grover played semi-pro football with the Dayton Dakotas, coached little league baseball, worked at Larch Tree GC and served in the US Army during WWII. Grover’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, sitting on the porch enjoying nice weather, fishing, going out to dinner and having apple pie for dessert. Lesz lenni örökre szeretett. Visitation will be held at 7 pm on Tues. April 26, 2011 followed by a brief service at 7:45, officiated by Pastor Brad Martin, at the Brough-Getts Funeral Home, 102 South Second Street, Miamisburg, Ohio. Private burial will be at a later date.

Myrtle - Beloved wife of the late Edger Hensley. Dear mother of Jannette Havens, Kenneth Hensley and Darrell Hensley. Christine B. - April 24, 1923 - March 3, 2011. Dear mother of Bruce Stanfill and good friend to the England family. Two sons and one daughter preceded Christine in death. BERRY
James W.
- Passed away January 14, 2011 at the age of 87. He was a loving husband to Delora Berry. Dear friend of the Shockley and Salyer family. James was born in Huntingburg, IN and grew up in Miamisburg, OH. In 1943 James joined the U.S. Army serving his county in the Pacific theater during WWII and was discharged with honors. After the war James went to work for Harris Sibo and after many years retired from there. James will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends may call at Brough-Getts Funeral Home Wednesday 1:00pm until time of service 2:00pm. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery.
